Paris Marathon, first run in 1896 and revived in 1976, is run along some of the most famous Parisian boulevards. The world's top runners will once again converge on the French capital on April 6th for this year's race.
The elite athletes are joined by tens of thousands of others, from club runners to people running in fancy dress. There are 37,000 runners in all - and it makes for an unforgettable sight as they cram the streets for mile after mile. You can watch them go by from Sport Hotel, which is on Avenue Daumesnil, part of the marathon route.
If you love your running, Running Expo, a free show at Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles from 3 - 5 April, is a must-visit. This is an exhibition aimed at everyone from the casual jogger to the serious competitor, so there is something for everyone and for all the family. It's the ideal way to warm up for the Paris Marathon itself!
