The children's summer festival called Les Pestacles returns to the Parc Floral de Paris in the Bois de Vincennes. Annually, for the last 16 years, the park has been transformed into a gigantic playground full of wonderful activities and entertainment for children. It all takes place within easy reach of the Hotel Interlude, so take your kids along to have fun in an exceptionally lovely setting.
A rendezvous for young aspiring music lovers
Les Pestacles is a festival dedicated to young people and is organised by the Mairie de Paris. Every Wednesday from June to September starting at 14:30, the Parc Floral of the Bois de Vincennes becomes a sunshine wonderland of playful and artistic adventures that take children on a new musical journey all summer long. In the exceptional bucolic setting of the Parc Floral of the Bois de Vincennes, the children of Parisians and tourists alike are invited to discover artists and performers from more than thirty arts groups, learn about various activities such as gardening through a wide selection of workshops, and enjoy a gigantic playground in the heart of nature.
Captivating experiences to the rhythm of all kinds of music
The Parc Floral of the Bois de Vincennes will be the wonderful venue for a host of jazz, rock, electro, pop, hip-hop and folk concerts as well as classical music, French chansons and world music such as gypsy and Latin-American. Music of all kinds and all cultures brought together in one place. Your children will also delight in watching various kinds of street theatre and performers, listening to traditional story readings from around the world in the Parc Floral’s bamboo grove, and taking part in exciting encounters with artistes from all walks of life in this same Bambouseraie every day at noon, before the show.
As every year there will be plenty of wonderful young talent
The programme for the summer of 2019 has not yet been finalised but what is certain is that, like every year, young amateur musicians and the major talents of tomorrow will be in the spotlight. These new arrivals on the musical scene will enchant you and your family. Collectives of young performers of the urban scene, including companies such as Les Wagonnets, who caused a sensation at Pestacles 2018, ensure excitement. Finally, note that on the last Wednesday of August, carte blanche is generally given to a collective of young performers from the Paris/Greater Paris urban area. These thrill other young people with their talents and creativity. The 2018 edition paid tribute to girls, so what will be the theme in 2019? Answers will soon be forthcoming ... Don’t forget that the festival’s last day features a mega dance party starring the festival’s top artistes!
