Charged with emotion, suffused with a sense of history and steeped in culture, it is no wonder that Paris has a magical reputation and is considered a place of enchantment, especially for lovers. Wander together throughout the city and you will come upon stunningly beautiful locations and picturesque views around every corner. There are few experiences in the world that have a greater power for bonding a couple more closely together on Valentine’s Day. Walk the World Heritage Site banks of the Seine, or perhaps take a cruise along this, one of the world’s great waterways, and you will be confronted by iconic landmark after landmark. Notre Dame Cathedral, the Orsay Musem, the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower… all will be revealed to your gaze.

While wandering the Seine you might cross over Pont Neuf, the oldest of the river’s 37 Parisian bridges, and find yourself on the Ile de la Cité. This is the geographical centre of the city and an enchanting place in its own right. Here you can wander amidst the beauty of the medieval gothic chapel of Saint Chapelle and Notre Dame Cathedral, which has reared its magnificent bulk over the Seine since the 12th century.   

Another location that is perfect for a romantic tryst is the Place des Vosges. Dating back to the early 17th century, it has vaulted arcades and a pretty green space at its centre. The shops and cafes are a delight to browse. But then again, you might only have eyes for each other!
