Your eyes will be wide with wonder at the Festival du Merveilleux
Are you staying at the Hotel L'Interlude during the Christmas holidays? Just a twenty-minute walk from our hotel, in the illuminated festive streets of the capital, the most unusual and magical festival of all opens its doors. Don’t miss the sheer magic, charm and excitement of the Festival du Merveilleux at the Musée des Arts Forains (Museum of Fairground Arts) in the Pavillons de Bercy.
Christmas magic at the Festival du Merveilleux
From December 26th, 2019 to January 5th, 2020, the Festival du Merveilleux celebrates its tenth edition. Since 2009, the Pavillons de Bercy, where you can find, among other attractions, the Musée des Arts Forains, plays host during the Christmas period to performances that are pure magic. The magic of the spoken word with storytellers, the magic of breathtaking skill with jugglers and acrobats, and even the magic of technology with 3D, optical illusions, automata shows and more. It’s a non-stop feast of fun and excitement to enchant the whole family.
An enchanting place in the heart of Paris
You should take advantage of this opportunity while you can. Apart from the Heritage Days and the Festival du Merveilleux, the Musée des Arts Forains opens its doors only by reservation. As for the other spaces of the Pavillons de Bercy, these are usually privately rented for events, but you can discover them during your Christmas break at our hotel! The Théâtre du Merveilleux is a reconstruction of a traditional vintage fairground, featuring rides, amusements, games and mechanical musical instruments. The Salons Vénitiens transport you to 19th century Venice and feature operatic automata! Then there’s the Magic Mirror, an actual circular ballroom dating from the 1920s that is a thing of exquisite beauty with its mahogany panels and bevelled mirrors. The entertainment continues in the illuminated private street. Pleasure guaranteed for adults and children alike.
